On Thursday the inauguration of investments in the distribution network in Klina and Istog was performed. In TS 110/10(20) kV Klina a total of 14 alcoves of 20 kV were installed while in Istog repairs in 3 TS 10/0.4 kV were conducted, as a result of common funding between KEK and Istog municipality. This inauguration was attended by Justina Shiroka – Pula, Minister of Energy and Mines (MEM), Fadil Çitaku, Chairman of KEK Board and Arben Gjukaj Acting KEK Managing Director.
On the occasion, Minister Pula and Mr. Çitaku called upon consumers to pay for their electricity bills. “This is a good endeavor, as it creates stability for the distribution network and for a better supply of electricity to consumers. The most advanced technology is installed, while we remain committed to installing similar facilities elsewhere in Kosovo as well”, said Minister of Energy and Mines, Justina Shiroka – Pula.
Otherwise, the 20 kV alcoves installed in Klina allow for the possibility of distance command. Arben Gjukaj, Acting KEK Managing Director said that the interest for such investments is and will continue to be at a high level. “This is merely a portion of investments which are realized throughout the country, since it is part of KEK management policy.
Only this year, the distribution network will benefit from 20 million euro investments from the Corporation’s own revenues”, said Gjukaj. Similarly, the investments in Istog have significantly increased security and stability of electricity supply. The mayor of this municipality, Fadil Ferati, expressed his readiness to further support KEK in investments of similar nature and other Corporation’s daily operations.
