Lluka meets Ambassador Minxhozi

Prishtinë, 16.11.2018 – Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Lluka met today with the Ambassador of Albania in Kosovo, Qemail Minxhozi, to discuss on common projects of the two countries, with special focus on the energy and telephony sectors.

During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on Hydro Power Plant Skakavica, which, based on the hydro-power generation potential study drafted with support by the European Commission, was identified as one of the potential projects for common investments, which can contribute to the regional security of energy supply. This project was encouraged by the European Commission, and Kosovo and Albania may utilized IPA funds to implement this common investment.

The meeting was also used to discuss on the significance of Albanian transmission system in ENTSO-E, and the establishment of the common exchange for both countries.

The head of MED was informed by Qemail Minxhozi on the progress of the Albanian state towards abolishment of roaming tariffs between the two countries, the implementation of which is expected next year.

Minister Lluka expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Minxhozi on the continuous support to Kosovo’s journey towards development and his content with the progress Albiana showed in the implementation of the common projects.
