Prishtina, 13 July 2023 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, participated in the “Trading in ALPEX” Conference held in Prishtina.

The conference was organized by USAID and the Albanian Power Exchange – ALPEX, where the operationalization of ALPEX in Kosovo was discussed. Minister Rizvanolli emphasized that our energy sector aims to be secure, resilient and provide affordable electricity prices that are sustainable for businesses and households with negligible impact, and this vision is central to our Energy Strategy and serves as a driving force for the Ministry’s work.

She further added that ALPEX will connect the energy markets of Kosovo and Albania, increasing liquidity, creating transparent prices, enabling increased penetration of renewable resources, and bringing both countries closer to the pan-European market.

The Albanian Power Exchange – ALPEX, which became operational in Albania in March 2023, will contribute to a competitive market in both Albania and Kosovo, facilitating the acquisition of electricity at more favourable prices. ALPEX will also be operationalized in Kosovo.
