Ministry of Economy allocates EUR 1 million to the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund
Prishtina, 3 November 2026 – Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli and Managing Director of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund Njomza Hoxha signed an agreement to transfer EUR 1 million to support the Fund’s activities and advance its energy efficiency objectives.
Through this agreement, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo reaffirms its commitment to reducing energy consumption, promoting more efficient energy use and improving citizens’ living conditions through investments that deliver tangible, lasting benefits.
The Government has consistently supported the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund. Since 2019, it has allocated a total of EUR 10 million to support the Fund’s work and expand energy efficiency measures across the country.
The Government has supported the Fund through budget allocations and close cooperation with international partners to provide additional funding and expand programmes that support households, multi-apartment buildings and public institutions.
The work of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund shows how public policy and strategic investment can deliver tangible benefits for citizens.
By renovating public buildings, individual houses and multi-apartment buildings, these investments help reduce energy consumption, lower energy costs and improve quality of life.
Energy efficiency investments improve housing conditions, making homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer while providing lasting savings on energy bills.
The benefits extend beyond households, as energy savings help reduce the load on the electricity system, strengthen the country’s energy security and protect the environment.
Continued support for the Fund is an investment in citizens’ well-being and Kosovo’s energy future.
The Ministry of Economy will continue to support policies and programmes that promote efficient energy use, placing citizens’ well-being and sustainable development at the centre of public investment.
