Prishtina, 16.10.2026 – The Ministry of Economy informs energy auditors that their certificates, issued under Regulation (MEPTINIS) No. 05/2020 and which have expired or are near expired, shall remain valid until a new certification institution is authorized in accordance with the new Law on Energy Efficiency.

This Decision is issued since on 30.10.2025 has expired the authorization for the sole training institution, the Centre for Energy and Sustainability (CES) at the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”. The authorization of a new institution will be carried out pursuant to the new Law on Energy Efficiency, which has been approved by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and is awaiting approval by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. The objective is to ensure that auditors do not lose their right to practice their profession.

This extension does not apply to certificates that have been suspended or revoked, nor to individuals subject to the restrictions stipulated in Article 13 of the Regulation. Throughout this period, the Ministry will continue to register audit reports and conduct full quality controls.

Following the authorization of the new institution, auditors will be required to complete a continuing professional education program within six (6) months. The Ministry will issue a relevant notification in due time.
