Beqaj received representatives of the Distribution and Supply Union

Prishtinë, 24 October 2012 – The Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, received today a delegation of the Distribution and Supply Union, lead by its president, Fehmi Pajaziti, with whom he discussed on the recent development in this company.

Present in this meeting, which was called at the request of union representatives, was also the Managing Director of the Kosovo Energy Corporation, Arben Gjukaj. The meeting was used to discuss concerns raised by union representatives and underline the obligations that Kosovo Calik Limak Energy has towards employees.

Minister Beqaj said that the individual performance represents the most realistic means of staff appraisal, while adding that MED guarantees to all staff that in the event that any violation of their rights is proven, accountability will be sought from the perpetrators.

At the meeting, the MED Head underlined the engagement of the Government in the privatization of KEK’s Distribution and Supply, and that the employees will be maximally protected and that they are guaranteed three-year employment contracts.

For their part, union representatives expressed their gratitude to the Minister for his readiness to listen to their concerns and agreed to address their claims in conformity with the legal and institutional framework.
