Prishtina, 15 February 2023 – The Ministry of Economy held the first meeting of the Working Group for the Development of the National Energy and Climate Plan 2025-2030. The meeting was chaired by Adnan Preniqi, Deputy Head of the Energy Policy Division.

The Working Group is composed of representatives from Ministry of Economy (ME), Office for Strategic Planning, and Office for European Integration of the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure (MESPI), Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers (MFLT), Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development (MAFRD), Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI), ERO, KOSTT, KEDS, KEK, University of Prishtina, Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, civil society, and others.

During the meeting, the contracted consultant – German Economic Team, financed by the German Government, presented the preparations hitherto, the schedule of document development, and the analytical results of modeling.

The Working Group for the development of the National Energy and Climate Plan 2025-2030 will be supported by GIZ.

The first draft of the Plan is expected to be completed by 30 May 2023, and thereafter will be sent to the Energy Community for comments.
