Second Phase of Clean Energy Grant Scheme Supports 30 Companies with EUR 536,000 for Green Investments
Prishtina, November 5, 2026 – Thirty companies have been recommended for support under the second phase of the Clean Energy Grant Scheme, as announced by the Ministry of Economy (MoE), the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MIETI), KIESA, and LuxDev. The scheme supports business investments in renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies, contributing to cost reduction, enhanced competitiveness, and the advancement of the country’s energy transition.
During the ceremony announcing the results, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, emphasized the importance of the private sector in the country’s energy transition.
“Every panel installed on the roof of a business or factory means less imported energy, reduced pressure on the grid during peak hours, and greater energy security. Our businesses are no longer just energy consumers; they are becoming active participants in the energy system,” said Minister Rizvanolli.
Commercial and industrial consumers account for one-third of Kosovo’s total energy consumption, making their contribution crucial to achieving the country’s energy and climate goals. Investments in renewable energy and more efficient technologies allow businesses to lower their consumption and boost productivity, thereby strengthening their long-term sustainability.
Results to date demonstrate growing interest from the private sector in such investments. During the first week of the scheme, 91 applications were received, and 9 companies were awarded grants totaling approximately EUR 120,000 for the installation of solar photovoltaic systems. Five of these projects have already been completed, while the others are in the final stages of implementation and monitoring.
Under the second phase, 30 companies have been recommended for funding amounting up to EUR 536,000. Across both phases, 39 companies have been selected, receiving support totaling EUR 656,000, complemented by co-financing by the businesses themselves.
One of the key innovations of the second call is the expansion of support beyond the installation of solar systems. For the first time, six companies operating in the wood processing, food processing, construction, and concrete manufacturing sectors, will also invest in energy-efficient equipment for their manufacturing lines.
The scheme focuses investments on three key areas: solar photovoltaic systems, energy efficiency measures for business premises, and efficiency improvements for manufacturing lines. Through these investments, businesses are better prepared for Kosovo’s liberalized market, while also contributing to the achievement of goals related to the energy transition and climate change mitigation.
The Ministry of Economy expresses its gratitude to the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for its support in Kosovo, while also acknowledging the MIETI, KIESA, and LuxDev for their collaboration on these initiatives.
