Mitrovica, 10.10.2024 – The VI International Multidisciplinary Geosciences Conference has commenced with the theme “Mining Industry and Sustainable Development.”

The two-day conference, being held at the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica, is organized by the Ministry of Economy (ME), “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (IBUM), and the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (ICMM).

At the opening of the Conference, the Director of the Department of Mines at the Ministry of Economy, Skender Sallahi, welcomed the proceedings of the Conference and emphasized the importance and potential of the mining industry in Kosovo’s development.

Participants in the Conference include researchers from Kosovo, regional countries, European Union member states, the United States, and Turkey.

During the first day of the Conference, researchers in the field of geosciences presented their papers, while on the second day, participants will visit various sites in Kosovo related to mining and minerals.
