Commemoration of the 376 victims of the Meja massacre
Gjakova, 27.04.2024 – On the Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, today, 376 victims of the Meja massacre were commemorated, with the presence of the leaders of the Republic of Kosovo.
Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli emphasized that in Meja, Gjakova, they are commemorating 376 victims of the Meja massacre, including boys and men aged 16-75, as well as other Albanians who were killed, including women and children who are buried here, and others who, 25 years later, have still not been found.
She also said that today is the Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, when we commemorate 1,597 individuals whose bodies have not yet been found.
“Each grave, each victim, and each disappeared person, as well as every family of the fallen, fills our hearts with pain and pride, but also reinforces our sense of duty to work for our state that we have achieved with such sacrifice”, Rizvanolli highlighted.
