Prishtina, 31.01.2020 – A joint delegation from Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Black and Veatch (B&V), as well as representatives of Kosovo Compact Development visited today the Ministry of Economic Development (MED), where they were welcomed by the Head of the MED Department of Energy, Mr. Luan Morina with associates, for the purpose of coordinating activities for development of the gas sector in Kosovo.

Mr. Morina highly appreciated the cooperation and commitment of the US Government, where, through institutional and programmatic representation, it has continuously supported the development of the energy sector in the Republic of Kosovo.

At the meeting, the parties were briefed on the overall development of the energy sector, in the legislative, strategic and programmatic aspect, with a particular emphasis on the development of the gas sector in Kosovo.

Also, it was discussed on the latest activity with study character – pre-feasibility study, supported by MCC and Kosovo Compacat Energy Sector, where according to the Terms of Reference prepared in advance, they will be implemented by US Army Core of Engineers (USACE) in cooperation with Black & Veatch (B&V), Abkons, Navita, and others.

Further on, the parties agreed to hold regular meetings even further for the purpose of coordinating activities, until the finalization of this process, which will have to result in the creation of preconditions for the implementation of the gas infrastructure in the Republic of Kosovo.
