Prishtina, July 27, 2026 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, chaired the roundtable on Kosovo’s development priorities and economic cooperation with France, organized within the framework of the official visit to Kosovo of the Minister Delegate for Europe of the Republic of France, Benjamin Haddad.

The roundtable was attended by the Deputy Minister of Sports, Daulina Osmani, as well as representatives of Kosovo institutions, the French Development Agency (AFD), France Sport Expertise Group and French companies.

The discussion took place after the signing of five new cooperation instruments between Kosovo and France:

• Extradition Agreement;
• Agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters;
• Loan agreement with AFD for infrastructure investments in the framework of preparations for the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games;
• Declaration of Intent for the establishment of the France-Kosovo Committee for the Mediterranean Games; and
• Administrative Agreement on the expansion of French language teaching in Kosovo.

Minister Rizvanolli presented Kosovo’s economic and development priorities, with a particular focus on the energy transition, the development of new solar and wind capacities, the modernization and digitalization of the energy network, and the development of new central heating systems.

She also highlighted opportunities for increased investment and cooperation in the ICT, manufacturing, trade and infrastructure sectors, and invited French companies to participate in future investment projects and processes in Kosovo.
“France is one of our main European partners. There is considerable scope for our strong political relations to be complemented by even deeper economic cooperation, new investments and concrete projects in the interest of our citizens and economies”, emphasized Minister Rizvanolli.

Minister Haddad praised the discussion as productive and useful, emphasizing that it marks the beginning of a broader and more ambitious cooperation between the two countries.
“This is the beginning of something bigger and much more ambitious. The Mediterranean Games represent a very good opportunity to promote and deepen our cooperation,” declared Minister Haddad.
The meeting also discussed the role of AFD in supporting projects in energy, infrastructure and sports, as well as the contribution of French expertise in the preparation and organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games.

Both sides expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation and work together to transform the identified priorities into concrete projects. Kosovo and France will continue the inter-institutional dialogue and engagement with the private sector to promote investments, sustainable development and the creation of new economic opportunities.
