Minister Ismajli meets representatives of German company Stihl

Prishtina, 04 March 2014 – The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, met today with Hartmut Austel, representative of the renowned German electricity equipment production company Stihl, with whom he discussed on potential investments in the sectors covered by MED, especially in the sphere of energy and environmental protection.

Minister Ismajli informed German businessman Austel and his associates on Kosovo’s legal and institutional framework regulating foreign investments and emphasized the need for German investments and experience in the concrete projects implemented in the country.

Further, the Head of MED underscored that Kosovo is an attractive country with vast natural mineral resources, and that the mining sector represents not merely a special asset and market, but also a source for country’s economic and social development.

Minister Ismajli said that according to studies conducted to date, overall and sustainable economic and social development of the Republic of Kosovo should to a great extent be supported by its natural wealth.

For his part, the German businessman expressed his readiness to be present in Kosovo, while appraising MED’s support to investors and its efforts to ensure a favorable investment environment in the country.
