The Republic’s enterprises are becoming part of the registry of public properties

Prishtina, 24 July 2026 – The Ministry of Economy and the Office of the Prime Minister co-organized a briefing roundtable with representatives of public enterprises to advance the Unified Public Property Registry. Thanks to this initiative, the State Geoportal will accurately mark the properties of public institutions and enterprises.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, spoke about the importance of proper property management for the sustainability of public enterprises and the services they provide. He emphasized the necessity for conscientious work in accordance with the law and public interest.

The roundtable was attended by the Director of the Director of the Office for Public Property Administration, Ms. Albana Shala-Bunjaku, Acting Director of the Public Enterprises Unit, Dëfrim Pllashniku, and Acting Director General of the Cadastral Agency, Faik Kelmendi. They spoke about the obligations arising from the Law on Public Property and the need for coordination with state institutions.

Public enterprises have a legal obligation to harmonize property data and publish it on the State Geoportal, to ensure transparency and increase the long-term value of property. They will also work to standardize and unify property management, including valuation, use and leasing procedures.
