France is interested in economic cooperation

Prishtina, 08.03.2013 Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, met today with the Foreign Trade Advisor of the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, Julien Roche, who was accompanied by Maryse Daviet, Ambassador of France in Prishtina.

Minister Beqaj informed his guests on the institutional and legal framework of Kosovo in the areas under the scope of MED and ongoing structural reforms in economy with the aim of strengthening of the private sector.

Beqaj has reiterated the Government’s interest to strengthen bilateral economic relations with EU countries, including France, and added that the key role in this cooperation should lie with private sector.

Minister highlighted that Kosovo offers a legal framework conducive of foreign investments, and welcomes cooperation with French investors, assuring them that they will treated fairly and equal to domestic investors.

From his part, Julien Roche, Foreign Trade Advisor in the French Ministry of Economy expressed the interest of French companies to cooperate with Kosovo businesses, and added that this meeting will serve as an initiative to further concrete actions.
