Mitrovica, 20.10.2022 – The V-th International Multidisciplinary Geoscience Conference, being held at the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica, concludes the proceedings today.

This two-day conference is organized by the Ministry of Economy (ME), the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM), and the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (ICMM).

On the first day of the Conference, researchers in the field of geoscience presented their conference papers, while on the second day, participants will visit various locations in Kosovo related to the fields of mining and minerals.

In his welcoming speech, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, emphasized the importance of holding this conference for Kosovo. He noted that the mining sector, as an invaluable opportunity, contributes to the sustainable development of the Republic of Kosovo.

Mjeku added that it is now the right time for scientists to contribute and assist with their studies to facilitate informed decision-making of the Government in the mining sector.

Participants in the Conference include researchers from Kosovo, regional countries, the United States, Canada, Africa, and representatives from companies involved in the mining sector.
