Rizvanolli in Greece: Raw Materials like Lithium Should Not Be Sourced by Strengthening Autocratic and Destabilizing Regimes

Thessaloniki, 06.09.2024 – The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Kosovo, Artane Rizvanolli, represented the Republic of Kosovo at the Southeast Europe Energy Forum (SEEF 2024), being held in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The Forum was attended by ministers from regional countries and representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy, where various topics related to the future of energy in the region, dealing with energy crises, and the orientation toward green energy and other renewable energy sources were discussed.

Minister Rizvanolli was part of the ministerial panel “Energy Cooperation in Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean: A Return to Energy Security in the EU”, where, alongside her counterparts from Greece, Theodore Skylakakis, North Macedonia, Sanja Bozhinovska, Bulgaria, Vladimir Malinov, and Romania, Sebastian Burduja, she discussed regional energy cooperation.

On this occasion, Minister Rizvanolli emphasized among other things that raw materials like lithium cannot be sourced by strengthening autocratic regimes with destabilizing tendencies in the region.

Additionally, she considered that cooperation with partners who share common values is crucial for ensuring the energy security of the region.
