Kosovo hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale

Prishtina, 13.03.2024 – Based on the Seismic Network, the Kosovo Geological Service, and the Euro-Mediterranean Seismic Center, as well as the numerical analysis of the Seismological Network of Kosovo, on 13.03.2024 at 13:12 local time, Kosovo was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.5-2.6 on the Richter scale, respectively with an intensity of III – IV on the Mercalli scale.

The hypocentral depth was 4 km while the epicenter of this earthquake was in the Northeast of Peja, 5 km west of Radac with coordinates: 42.734 (latitude) and 20.307 (longitude).

Due to the depth of its epicenter, the earthquake in question was clearly felt by the residents of the Peja region.
