Prishtina, 14 February 2023 – The Ministry of Economy informs citizens that Kosovo has not been hit by the earthquake, but tremors have been felt due to an earthquake with the epicenter in Romania.

Based on the Seismological Network, the Geological Survey of Kosovo and the Euro-Mediterranean Seismic Center, as well as the numerical analysis of seismic data, on 14 February 2023 at 14:16 local time, Romania was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale, with VII-VIII intensity on the Mercalli scale. The hypocentral depth was 40 kilometers.

The earthquake tremors were felt by the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo due to the strength of the earthquake and the release of energy within a radius of up to 500 km.
