Deputy Minister Mjeku represented Kosovo at the Mining Congress and Fair in Ankara, Turkey
Prishtina, 01.11.2024 – The Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku, participated in the Mining Congress and Fair in Ankara, Turkey, where among the participating Kosovar enterprises were the publicly-owned enterprises Trepça and KEK.
Deputy Minister Mjeku announced that, at the invitation of the British Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo (BCCK), he joined the fair at the opening ceremony.
In his speech, he elaborated on the work being done for economic development, trade relations with Turkey, and the advantages that our Republic offers to investors.
With 180 participating companies from Turkey and other countries, the fair showcases innovation in mining and construction machinery.
On the sidelines of the event, Mjeku met with the President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Gürsel Baran, with whom he discussed opportunities for cooperation and investments. He also noted that he had the opportunity to meet with leaders of many companies that are doing business with Kosovo or intend to start production activities in our country.
“At Kosovo’s pavilion, we hosted the Minister of Mines, Environment, and Sustainable Development from Lualaba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mr. Wamana Tanda Nicodème, with whom we discussed the challenges and opportunities of the sector in our era. With over 3.2 million citizens and 121,000 square kilometers of area, Lualaba is one of the 21 provinces of the largest Francophone country in the world”, emphasized Mjeku.
