Rizvanolli in Washington: Transatlantic Partnership for Energy Security and Independence from Russian Sources

Washington, D.C., February 24, 2026 – At the invitation of the Chairman of the National Energy Dominance Council (NEDC), U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, and Vice-Chairman, U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Kosovo, Artane Rizvanolli, participated in the Transatlantic Gas Security Summit, held in Washington, D.C.

The Summit brought together senior government leaders from European countries, high-level representatives from the European Commission, and industry executives with the aim of supporting efforts to reduce dependence on Russian energy sources and advancing transatlantic cooperation in Europe’s energy security.

As part of the program, Minister Rizvanolli took part in the ministerial panel titled “A Sustainable Transatlantic Partnership.”

In her remarks, Minister Rizvanolli thanked Secretary Wright and Secretary Burgum for organizing the event and for the leadership role of the United States in strengthening Europe’s energy independence and security. She emphasized that national security is energy security and that cooperation among partner countries sharing democratic values is crucial for a secure energy sector.

The Minister highlighted that energy affordability remains a core priority for Kosovo. She noted that the country is pursuing a dual approach: rehabilitating existing capacities and exploring new technologies, including coal gasification, expressing readiness for collaboration with the U.S. Government and American companies.

The Summit was held on February 24, 2026, at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C.
