Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Rizvanolli visited the Post of Kosovo office in Zveçan

Zveçan, 28.04.2025 – Following their stay in Leposaviq, the Caretaker Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Caretaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, the Chairperson of the Board of the Post of Kosovo, Gëzim Paci, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Post of Kosovo, Nora Rraci, visited the Post of Kosovo office located in the centre of Zveçan.

This office, opened on 31 March 2025, was the target of a hand-grenade attack at the beginning of April, nevertheless, despite the material damage, the office restored its services in less than two days after the attack, demonstrating the determination of the Post and of the institutions of Kosovo.

It is one of three Post of Kosovo offices in this municipality that provide all postal services as well as other financial services, such as payments. In addition to universal postal services, expedited express services are offered both domestically and internationally. Citizens can perform all postal services and other payment services here.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked the Post employees, from different communities, for their hospitality. He congratulated the Ministry of Economy and the Post of Kosovo for the ever-wider territorial expansion of the public postal service, which follows the overall success in the performance of the Post of Kosovo.

He also singled out one element of today’s visit: “We began the month of April with the sad news about hand grenades, one of which exploded and the other did not, precisely in the place where we are standing today. Yet, we are carrying out this visit at the end of the month in a situation where it is clear to all citizens that the Post is not a place for grenades or bombs but for letters, stamps, goods, and indeed for financial remittances that can now be received in euros here at the Post of Kosovo office in Zveçan”.

Finally, he emphasised that with the increase in various businesses, shopping centres, stores, as well as manufacturing and service facilities, and commercial bank branches, public enterprises naturally must be and will be increasingly present for the sake of citizens, making no distinctions and serving them all.

While Minister Rizvanolli stated that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo will continue to support the Post in expanding its network and advancing the services it provides.

Meanwhile, the Post of Kosovo continues its expansion and modernisation:

  • 157 active post offices throughout the territory of Kosovo (+11 %);
  • 13 active offices in the four northern municipalities;
  • 259,000 euros in profit in 2024;
  • Investments in transport, IT infrastructure and new services for citizens.
