On the eve of entry into force of the $236 million Compact Program, today started its implementation workshop, organized by MCA Kosovo and MCC
Pristina, 11.03.2024 – Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, delivered the opening speech at the Implementation Workshop of the Compact Program, organized by MCA Kosovo and MCC, an event held on the eve of the entry into force of the $236.7 million energy storage investment program.
During this week, 16 individuals from the MCC team in Washington DC, as well as the staff of MCA Kosovo, recruited in recent months, will establish effective cooperation norms between MCA-Kosovo, MCC, and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo during the implementation of this innovative program.
This comes after a long and dedicated work over the past year, with a focus on the preliminary achievements of the program, such as:
- Launching the first solar energy auction with a capacity of 100MW;
- Approval of the Program for the Protection of Vulnerable Electricity Consumers; as well as
- Proceeding of the Law on Electricity to the public consultation phase.
Minister Rizvanolli, during her speech, thanked the MCA Kosovo team, the MCC, as well as other partners for their work and highlighted that the Government of Kosovo will support them on the road to implementing the Compact.
She expressed gratitude for the achievements made this year by MCA-Kosovo, starting with its establishment, staff recruitment, fulfillment of several precedent essential conditions, and the initiation of work with some of the most important partners and contractors.
