Rizvanolli: Women engineers are excellent role models for young girls
Prishtina, 12.10.2023 – On the occasion of marking the International Day of the Girl Child, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, together with the girls of the Children’s Municipal Assembly in Prishtina, visited the facility of KEDS, the Elektrokosova Building, and the Dispatch Center.
On this occasion, Minister Rizvanolli emphasized that young women and girls prove every day that their active participation in the workforce and education, in the largest possible percentages, enhances the quality of work, and the results are immediately evident.
“This is especially true in sectors historically dominated by men. Today, on the International Day of the Girl Child, together with the girls of the Children’s Municipal Assembly in Prishtina, along with Luljeta Demolli, Director of the Kosovar Gender Studies Center, Valbona Kadrija, Director of the KEDS Energy Human Resources Department, and Genta Gagica from Save the Children Kosova/o, we visited KEDS, where we stayed at the Dispatch Center, and we talked to women engineers who are excellent role models for young girls”, Rizvanolli said.
She also added that these meetings inspire us more than the girls themselves to continue our work towards creating equal opportunities and breaking down existing barriers.
The activity was organized by the Kosovar Gender Studies Center, Sweden Sverige, and Save and Children. In addition to Minister Rizvanolli, Luljeta Demolli, Executive Director of KGSC, and Valbona Kadrija, Director of the Human Resources Department at KEDS, also spoke at the event.
International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated every year on October 11th, a date designated by the United Nations to promote gender equality.
