Pristina, 9 June 2011 – Today, a memorandum of understanding was signed by MED and the German Association for International Cooperation – GIZ, as part of the cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the Federal Republic of Germany on the development of common projects in different spheres. This memorandum will be the basis for future contractual arrangements aimed at co-funding a project on efficient lighting in public facilities at the municipal level.

PRISHTINA, 8 June 2011 – At today’s meeting of the Committee on Economic Development, Trade, Industry, Energy, Transport and Telecommunications of the Assembly of Kosovo, the Minister of Economic Development (MED), Besim Beqaj, spoke on the performance to date and the measures taken by the ministry towards the country’s economic development.

Prizren, 6 June 2011 – The Minister of Economic Development (MED), Besim Beqaj, stated on Monday in Prizren that it is an objective of his Establishment to support local businesses, but that there will be no classical subsidies. In addition, efforts will be made to create the preconditions for economic growth and development.

SHARR, 6 June 2011 – In a meeting with the Mayor and business representatives of Sharr, the Minister of Economic Development Besim Beqaj spoke on stimulation of competition, strengthening of the private sector, generation of employment possibilities, improvement of Kosovo’s image and investment climate and on creation of a safe and stable business climate, while determining the concrete dynamic for the accomplishment of the above.

Prishtina, 6 June 2011 – Today, The Minister of Economic Development (MED), Besim Beqaj, presented the work of the ministry in its first 100 days of existence, underlining the work in the completion of the legal framework, compilation of the planning document on economic developmental priorities, monitoring of public enterprises and implementation of capital projects, while not leaving aside cooperation in the region and beyond.
