The Ministry of Economy held a consultation meeting with NGOs about the emergency package of 75 million from the EU

Prishtina, 12.12.2022 – Chief of Cabinet of the Minister of Economy, Anyla Beqa, together with Managing Director of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund, Ahmet Ismaili, and representatives of the European Union Office in Kosovo received in a meeting representatives of civil society organizations and the Academy of Sciences of Kosovo to discuss about the emergency support package of the European Union to mitigate the impacts of energy crisis.

In the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and local and international institutions disclosed the details of the 75 million package and discussed the best ways to allocate these funds and optimize the positive impact on citizens and micro, small and medium enterprises.

Further, they discussed about the two calls of the Ministry of Economy for efficient heating equipment subsidy for the citizens of the country intended to reduce consumption and mitigate impacts of the European energy crisis. In the second call for subsidies, all difficulties faced by the citizens during the first call were taken into account and improved by allowing to apply even to new residents of houses or apartments, the subsidy for single-mothers was increased and social assistance beneficiaries were allowed to benefit from the subsidy through pro-invoice.

The participants discussed together about how similar calls can be further improved for the next year.
