Telecom of Kosovo with a positive growth trend

Prishtina, 29.11.2022 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, visited Telecom of Kosovo, where she was welcomed by the Chair of the Board, Shpetim Dobra, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Burbuqe Hana, and the management staff.

The visit took place within the series of annual meetings to be more closely informed about the developments and management work for the recovery of the publicly-owned enterprise Telecom of Kosovo.

Minister Rizvanolli was closely informed about the achievements and continuous work of Telecom management for the return of the positive growth trend from a negative series of financial results in recent years.

During the joint press conference, Minister Rizvanolli said that we are exploring the opportunities to help Telecom afford the investments in the extension of network in the northern municipalities of Kosovo and will try to do this in the coming weeks.

Telecom of Kosovo is recovering this year, the revenues have increased by 8%, while expenses have decreased by around 9%. Now after 7 years without investments in technology, the investment plan in new technology will be implemented during the next year and will start the complete migration to the telephone code of Kosovo +383/221-01. The results of these investments will be noticed by the customers in March and April of the next year.

Minister Rizvanolli said that Telecom is being recovered as a company, as a collective of workers, and as customer service. “Managing with hospitality and the commitment of each and every one, led by a management, which has come from the ranks of Telecom itself. With this trend, the Telecom has good perspective as an enterprise of strategic importance for our country and also with an important role in the security of the country”.

Minister Rizvanolli also added that no investment in technology had been made in Telecom
since 2015 and today we are facing a very important moment, as Telecom is in the end of the process of radical replacement of technology of the mobile telephony, or Vala as we know it, as we are at an important point, where a common obligation to improve the quality of service to citizens and to extend Telecom services to the whole country is being realized.
