Technology Park “Tech Park Pristina” inaugurated

Prishtina, 12 October 2023 – The first Technology Park “Tech Park Pristina” has been inaugurated, an investment made by the Ministry of Economy (ME) amounting to €1.2 million on the property of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), which was handed over to the Kosovo Association of Information and Communication Technology of Kosovo (STIKK).

The Technology Park facility in Bernica, Prishtina, was inaugurated by Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, Minister of Trade, Industry and Entrepreneurship, Rozeta Hajdari, Deputy Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Eva Palatova and the Executive Director of to the Kosovo Association of Information and Communication Technology of Kosovo (STIKK), Vjollca Çavolli.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti stated that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is following the path of countries that harness the power of information and communication technology to generate jobs, promote economic growth and improve the quality of life for citizens.

“This investment has transformed this 4,000 m2 building into a modern and inspiring environment dedicated to the development of digital technology. Investment in this technology park demonstrates our commitment to the development of technology and innovation, which are the foundations of the 21st-century economy”, said Prime Minister Kurti.

On the other hand, Minister Artane Rizvanolli emphasized that the Ministry of Economy has prioritized the operationalization of the Digital Technology Park in Bernica, an investment of about €1.2 million, which is now opening its doors to businesses and startups, organizations and individuals it will serve.

“It is a longstanding demand from the ICT sector, and I am happy that finally, after a long commitment, and especially after a great effort by the MoE staff, especially the final stages are implemented with high precision and high-quality investment. Today, we are here to see a modern object, a very large space, but what is even more important, a warm and beautiful space, an inspiring environment, promising for all those who will work here”, said Minister Rizvanolli.

Rizvanolli expressed her joy that this modern space will be available to startups and businesses at a mature level of development, bringing them closer to the opportunities to cooperate with each other, create synergies and respond more effectively to the needs of the international market.

Minister Hajdari, on the other hand, stated that the development of innovation is one of the key priorities of the ministry she leads, and “Tech Park Pristina” is expected to be one of the main drivers of development and transformation of the industry through the development of innovation and entrepreneurship.

During the event, participants visited the premises of the Technology Park and discussed with ICT professionals.

“Tech Park Pristina” aspires to mark Kosovo as a technology and entrepreneurship centre, with ambitions to become a free economic zone, fostering an innovative zone for the ICT sector in Kosovo.

“Tech Park Pristina” will be managed by the Kosovo Association of Information and Communication Technology of Kosovo (STIKK) for the next 5 years.

“Tech Park Pristina” is located in an attractive area in Bernia e Poshtme in Pristina, with modern infrastructure, covering a total area of 4,000 square meters and aims to generate more than 300 qualified jobs and provide space for over 60 companies and startups.

In its premises, “Tech Park Pristina” offers 26 offices, meeting rooms, training rooms, green areas, as well as a 1,600-square-meter indoor networking area.
