Rizvanolli: Energy security can only be achieved through cooperation based on common values of peace and democracy

Athens, 22 November 2022 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, upon invitation of the Greek Minister of Environment and Energy, Kostas Skrekas, participated in the 1st Athens Ministerial Energy Dialogue with the topic: “Guaranteeing energy security in a developing world”.

In the ministerial meeting, along with Minister Rizvanolli and Minister Srekas, have participated: the Minister of Albania, Belinda Balluku, the Minister of Bulgaria, Rosen Hristov, the Minister of Italy, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, and the Minister of Romania, Virgil-Daniel Popescu.

During the meeting, the Ministers discussed the extension and expansion of transmission connections, the increase in the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix of the South-Eastern European countries, as well as the increase of energy efficiency as one of the key steps in dealing with the European energy crisis.

During the discussion with ministers, Minister Rizvanolli stated that energy security can only be achieved through close cooperation, on which the independence and energy security of Europe depend.

It is critical that this cooperation is built not only based on economic development but on our common European values of peace and democracy.
