Ministry of Economy Tops European Reform Barometer

Prishtina, 23.02.2024 – Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Liburn Aliu, and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Arbërie Nagavci, discussed about the results of the report and experiences in designing and implementing European reforms.

These and other topics were discussed at the Conference organized by the Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS) and the European Policy Institute of Kosovo (EPIK) during the conference where the European Reform Barometer was presented.

According to this report prepared by GLPS, the Ministry of Economy (ME) belongs to the group of ministries with the best performance, ranking first.

This barometer presents the planning within the EINP (European Integration National Program) and the European Reform Agenda (ERA), which was launched online today.

In her speech, Minister Rizvanolli said that these reforms enable citizens to have easier access to information on the performance of public institutions, as it is critical for them to be not only informed but well-informed.

Furthermore, she added that the results of the Ministry of Economy come after a long and careful work, where much has been done to ensure the drafting and design of policies and projects and measures that fill gaps, meet the needs of Kosovo, and provide solutions to critical problems in the sectors covered by the ME.

These reforms, beyond immediate results, are important in building institutional capacities and setting precedents for fair, transparent processes, to ensure that such measures will continue to be formulated and implemented in the future, Rizvanolli said.

Minister Rizvanolli thanked EPIK and GLPS for the informative report and for creating a pleasant atmosphere for open and constructive discussion between the Government and civil society.
