Pristina, 23.02.2023 – Deputy Minister of Economy Getoar Mjeku attended the ceremony of certification of students trained in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), funded by the European Union’s “ICT for Kosovo’s Growth” Project.

The Deputy Minister congratulated over 250 students certified for their skills on Java, Python, Big Data and Machine Learning.

In his speech, Mjeku thanked the European Union for its continued support to Kosovo in various sectors, especially in the ICT sector and digitalization. He noted that “when we talk about digital transformation, projects like ‘ICT for Kosovo Growth’ are an integral part of our economic development. The young trained people will help our efforts in digitalizing Kosovo”.

Before the attendees, Deputy Minister Mjeku presented ICT and digitalization projects, such as the 5G network in ITP Prizren, which is an investment by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, and the development of electronic identification and signature system, financed by the EU.

Alessandro Bianciardi, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the European Union Office in Kosovo, added that the EU will continue to support Kosovo in the ICT and digital transformation field..
