Prishtina, 10 July 2009 – Heads of ministries and regulatory offices, institutional representatives and representatives of donors in Kosovo, along with local and international energy and mines sector experts met twice during this week to discuss on key points and draft-decisions pertaining to the process of providing investments for the implementation of the Thermal Power Plant New Kosova project.
Prishtina, July 1, 2009 – Minister of Energy and Mining, Justina Shiroka – Pula, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mining, Blerim Rexha and other collaborators inaugurated the realization of the Project “Use of Solar Energy” in the Psychiatric and Neurologic Clinics of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo. This ceremony was also attended by Jusuf Ulaj, Director of the UCCK, Director of the Psychiatric Clinic, Gentian Qala.
Prishtina, June 25, 2009 – Ministry of Energy and Mining (MEM) was host to the meeting of the Sub-working Group on Energy (SWG was established under the activities for European integration), with the participation of senior representatives of MEM, MEST, ERO, KOSTT and KEK. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the European Commission Liaison Office in Kosovo.
Prishtina, 11 June 2009 – Project Steering Committee of the Lignite Power Technical Assistance Project were convened in a consultative meeting. Chaired by Minister of Energy and Mining, Justina Shiroka – Pula, the meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi and representatives of International Civilian Office, World Bank and USAID.
Prishtina, 9 June 2009 – A regular meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee for Hydro Power Plant Zhur was held today at the premises of Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Justina Shiroka Pula.
Prishtina, 5 June 2009 – Ministry of Energy and Mining (MEM), KOSTT, ERO and KEK have presented today, before the European Commission (EC), the progress achieved in the energy sector in the period September 2008 – March 2009. On this occasion, MEM has presented the achievements in harmonizing domestic legislation with the EU Acquis, the progress in meeting the obligations of the Energy Community Treaty, etc. The meeting was also used to present the achievements in the “New Kosova” Power-Plant Project, and “Zhur” Hydropower Plant.
Prishtina, 03 June 2009 – Today in Prishtina, a presentation of hydro power-plant Zhur feasibility study was organized. Present in the meeting were the Prime Minister of Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, Minister of Energy and Mines, Ms. Justina Shiroka – Pula, other Government of Kosovo ministers, representatives of national and international organizations in Kosovo, as well as other parties of interest for developments of electro-energetic projects.
Prishtina, 1 June 2009- Minister of Energy and Mines (MEM), Justina Shiroka – Pula, accompanied by the Coordinator of MEM Human Rights Unit, Arbërore Bërnica, visited on 1 June the School for children with special needs “Përparimi”, to mark the International Children’s Day, and used the opportunity to donate two computers to the school, in order of facilitating the teaching process and supporting this category of children, while noting the support of the Institutions of Republic of Kosovo for the latter.
