Prishtina, 21 December 2009 – The Minister of Energy and Mines, Ms. Justina Shiroka-Pula, accompanied by the Deputy-Minister, Mr. Blerim Rexha, the political advisor Faik Nahi and the LPTAP Project Manager Lorik Haxhiu, received a delegation from Slovenia, headed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Slovenia, Ms. Darja Radic.

Berlin, December 15, 2009 – Deputy Minister of energy and mining (MEM) dr.Techn Blerim Rexha, associated by Ferat Shala, director of Trepçës and Ilir Morina, Director of Environment Protection Agency in MESP, visited Berlin and met with Dr. Werner Stackebrandt from Mining Agency of the Brandeburg and Berlin Republic and Prof. dr. Frank Riessback from Humboldt University.

Prishtina, 26 November 2009 – The Conference “Improvement and Reclamation of damaged land for a better environment” was organized in Prishtina by the Ministry of Energy and Mining (MEM). Topics of discussion were the current situation of land pollution and measures undertaken to return to the previous state through land reclamation.

London, 24 November 2009 – Deputy-Minister of Energy and Mines, Dr. Tech. Blerim Rexha attended an Investment Forum in Great Britain. At this occasion, Deputy-Minister Rexha emphasized that the Government of Republic of Kosovo considers private investments in the energy field as necessary to the development and revival of this sector, underlining that this lays the grounds for secure, qualitative and economically feasible energy services for all Kosovo’s citizens. “Kosovo’s sustainable and prompt economic and social development in the mid-term and long-term period require support from a developed and modern energy sector, which is based on utilization of domestic conventional and renewable energy resources, which are vastly available in Kosovo”, said the Deputy-Minister of Energy, Dr.Tech. Blerim Rexha.

Prishtina, 09 November 2009 – A meeting of the New Kosovo Project Steering Committee was held in the premises of the Ministry of Energy and Mining (MEM), under the chairmanship of Minister of Energy, Justina Shiroka – Pula, with the participation of other Ministers of the Kosovo Government and heads of independent regulators for Mines and Energy. Topics of discussions were the developments of the New Kosovo Project.

Prishtina, 5 November 2009 – The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) organized in its premises a meeting on the European Commission 2009 Kosovo Progress Report, to discuss on energy related matters and to address challenges and priorities for 2010.

Prishtina, October 23, 2009 – A meeting on Gas was organized by the MEM Office for European Integration. Participants from the meeting were actors of the energy sector, including MEM, ERO, KOSTT and KEK.

Prishtina, October 22, 2009 - PRISHTINA – Ministry of Energy and Mining, Ministry of Finance and Economy and KfW have signed a memorandum of understanding on the funding of joint energy projects.

Prishtina, 15 October 2009 – The Minister of Energy and Mines, Justina Shiroka – Pula was received by the Ambassador of the United States in Kosovo, Christopher Dell, with whom she discussed on the most recent developments in the energy sector.
