Workshop held on employment possibilities in digital economy

Prishtina, 12.02.2016 – Today, a workshop was held in the Ministry of Economic Development on employment possibilities in the digital economy. Present in this workshop was also Deputy Minister of MED, Besa Zogaj-Gashi, Deputy-Minister of MEST, Anila Statovci, alongside experts from the World Bank, ICT officials, and representatives of MED, STIKK, 3CIS, UBT, GIZ and business representatives.

On the occasion, Ana Diakondize, World Bank expert, presented a detailed report on the development of digital skills in Kosovo, according to which, the development of Kosovo’s digital infrastructure, abilities and business, should comprise the main objective for Digital Economy in Kosovo, as an opportunity for increasing employment and export of services.

During this workshop, discussions also revolved around challenges that hinder the export of services, design of programs, options to provide trainings and other matters of significance.

Second part of the workshop was used to present the latest developments regarding the project “Women and online employment”, the implementation of which is expected to start in Lipjan municipality next week, and in Gjakova at a later stage.
