The Washington negotiations with the MCC for the Compact Program continue

Washington, 10.05.2022 – On Friday, May 5, Prime Minister Albin Kurti opened the official negotiations for the Compact Program with the MCC in Washington. This negotiation process in Washington is being led by the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, who is leading a negotiating team comprised of specialists in the fields of energy, economy, and justice. Negotiations with the MCC for the Compact Program will last until the end of the week and during the negotiation sessions, the technical details and specifics related to the project will be defined.
    
The Compact Project will be a key factor in enabling Kosovo’s energy transition through building energy storage capacities, developing workforce skills, and increasing the representation of women in the energy sector. The Compact is expected to exceed the value of over 200 million US dollars and is the largest energy project in the history of Kosovo.
 
During the negotiations, Minister Rizvanolli thanked the Compact development team and MCC officials for developing an innovative and useful project for the Kosovar economy.
 
Further, Minister Rizvanolli emphasized that this project is strong evidence of the close relationship between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America.
 
At the end, Minister Rizvanolli expressed her profound gratitude to the United States of America by referring to it as a “friendly state and ally in our most difficult times.”
