Prishtina – 10.12.2019 – The University of Minnesota, together with its faculty of business Carlson School of Management, has awarded a prestigious prize to Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Luka for leadership, called Distinguished Leadership Award for Internationals, awarded to graduate students that have shown special achievements and have helped their developing countries.

Minister Luka said that “It was a moment of pride and excitement to accept this award through a symbolic ceremony specially organized for this award, precisely 10 years after graduation. This award will serve as a motivation to contribute further for my country and the community, proudly bearing the emblem of this university wherever I go. The time I spent there during 2007 – 2009 was undoubtedly the best time of my life, both in the sense of experience and educational benefit.”

The University of Minnesota has about 65,000 students and is ranked in the top 50 universities in the world. The Business School of this university is ranked in the top 25 schools in the US for the master of business (MBA) program.

The studies were made possible thanks to the Kosovo American Education Fund (KAEF), which continues to send 6 to 8 students to the US for Master’s Degree studies.

The business school at this university is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. In its annual publication it has selected 100 personalities that have contributed to the development of the country, including among them Minister Luka.
