The proposal is made for a common Kosovo-Slovenia committee on economic development

Prishtina, 12 November 2013 – The Minister of Economic Development, Fadil Ismajli, had today an introductory meeting with the new Slovenian Ambassador in Kosovo, Miljan Mahen, with whom he discussed on the continuation of mutual economic cooperation between two countries, with special emphasis on spheres covered by MED, which are considered key for the country’s development.

Minister Ismajli paid special attention during the meeting with the Slovenian diplomat to the attraction of investors and dialogue in this regard with the Slovenian and other embassies, while underscoring the commitment of both governments to the establishment of a favorable climate for foreign investments.

The counterparts used the occasion to discuss on the need to establish a joint economic development committee and to identify potential sectors that would attract investments in the areas of energy efficiency, information technology, infrastructure and other similar fields.

Ismajli and Majhen also discussed on cooperation with experts delegated from Slovenia to present projects in the abovementioned areas with the objective of attracting direct foreign investments.

For his part, the Slovenian Ambassador reconfirmed Slovenia’s readiness to advance bilateral cooperation, assessing that the current level of relations between countries, not only in the economic sphere but also in other spheres, contributes to common interests of both countries.
