Prishtina, 10.07.2019 – In the framework of the engagements for drafting the National Plan on Energy and Climate (NPEC) 2021-2030, the Working Group held a workshop – fourth meeting for the drafting of NPEC 2021-2030.

The meeting was opened jointly by the chairpersons of the Working Group for the drafting of NPEC 2021-2030, Mr. Sabit Gashi and Mrs. Nezakete Hakaj, who informed the participants on the so far activities and work of the Thematic Groups.

The workshop was divided into two parts. In the first part, the expert, Mr. Nicolas Brizard, who is engaged in the preparation of energy projections and requirements for the period 2021-2030, presented his work related to the preparation of energy projections by 2030 and the challenges he faces in the preparation of these projections.

The second part of the workshop proceeded with the presentation by group chairpersons regarding the work done by the Thematic Groups and it was discussed on how to foster the work of the Thematic Groups’ members.

It is agreed that until the next meeting of the Working Group, which will be held in September, they will work with increased intensity and will involve all members of the Thematic Groups to contribute to the drafting of Chapters 2 and 3 of the NPEC, pursuant to the requirements of the Regulation No. 2018/1999 on the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action.

NPEC 2021-2030, is based on the recommendation of the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community adopted in January 2018, and includes 5 dimensions: Energy Security, Internal Energy Market, Energy Efficiency, Decarbonizing the economy, Research, Innovation and Competition.
