Mitrovica, 17.01.2024 – The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, accompanied by Board members of the Enterprise “Trepça”, visited the injured miners of this enterprise at the Regional Hospital of Mitrovica tonight.

During the visit of the miners to the Mitrovica Hospital, Minister Rizvanolli extended the support of the Ministry of Economy and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in any possible form to the injured and wished them a full and speedy recovery.

Today, around 13:00, an incident occurred in the Trepça Mine, where during the maintenance of the pipes, a leakage of hydrochloric acid from a cylinder occurred, resulting in the injury of 13 workers at the Stantergu Mine.

After the incident, the injured miners received medical treatment at the Mitrovica Hospital, and their lives are not in danger. Two injured miners are still under medical care, while 11 miners have returned to their homes after receiving medical treatment. During the day, the injured miners were also visited by the Deputy Minister of Economy, Getoar Mjeku and the Head of the Pulbicly-Owned Enterprises Monitoring Unit, Valon Prebreza.
