Prishtina, 13.11.2020 – The company “Ekoregjioni” for the region of Prizren has received 15 trucks for cleaning the environment as a donation given by the Japanese government.

These vehicles will be used for the units of “Ekoregjioni” in Malisheva, Dragash, Suhareka and Rahovec.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Environment, Ergin Bunjaku, added that Japan is one of the countries that has recognized independence and has stood by us since 1999.

“Even during this time, Japan is helping health institutions. A few years ago they donated 43, and now they are donating 15 others for 5 municipalities”. “These vehicles will be used responsibly by the beneficiary municipalities. We hope that this cooperation will continue”.

On the other hand, the director of the company “Ekoregjioni”, Nehat Basha, said that these trucks will make their work easier.

“We needed this technical assistance. The technical capacities for waste are meeting the demands of all units. Today these trucks are lined up, while our workers will be satisfied”. He further said that there will be increased security and increased quality of services provided by this company.

The charge d’affaires of the Embassy of Japan, Mitsunori Ogasawara, said that due to the pandemic situation they are focused on health assistance but he also promised donations to other regions.
Mr Ogasawara said: “The agreement for this type of donation was signed last year. The Japanese state took a decision to open the Japanese embassy in Kosovo. So I’m been here since January.

Given the situation, we are focused on health”. “Also, one of the grants is related to education in Kosovo. We must also develop the capacity of the environment in Kosovo. This also follows as a continuation of that good work where you benefited 43 trucks. We will continue to support you in other regions as well. Therefore, we hope that together we will be able to create a cleaner environment in Kosovo”, he further added.
