Supportive business environment for women start-ups in South of Mitrovica

Prishtinë, 25.11.2016 – The Government of the Republic of Kosovo is engaged in improvement of business environment which is also indicated in the last World Bank report, which is reflected in statistics of women business owners, who are registered in 2015, said the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Besa Zogaj-Gashi.
The Deputy Minister Zogaj-Gashi made these comments in the conference “Supportive business environment for women start-ups in the North and South of Mitrovica”, held today in Mitrovica, which was attended by representatives of both central and local government and representatives of civil society.

In this occasion, Zogaj Gashi reminded the attendees that the law on registration of co-ownership over immovable property was adopted on the initiative of the Prime Minister, which encourages young couples to register the property in the name of both spouses from the outset of creation of property.

According to her, the Government aims to ensure the necessary incentives for better implementation of the law in general, in heaving equal treatment of women, spouses and partners.

Along those lines, Zogaj- Gashi also mentioned the “Administrative Instruction on registration of Joint Immovable Property, in the name of both spouses, free of charge”, as an affirmative measure.

The Deputy Head of the MED also assessed that adoption of the Law on “Trepça” and the Law on Strategic Investments, will be a boost for economic development and facilitation of procedures, respectively increase of interest in the part of foreign investors to invest in Kosovo.

Otherwise, the Project “Supportive business environment for women start-ups in the North and South of Mitrovica” was financed by the EU Office in Kosovo through the EU regional Program and was co-financed by the Municipality of Mitrovica South and MOTT.

This project is implemented by the Community Building Mitrovica in cooperation with the D&G Solutions.
