Prishtinë, 15.12.2016 – The Government Supports all private initiatives for investment in the energy sector within the legal and institutional framework, with the aim of diversifying sources of energy, said Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci made these comments today during the presentation of the project for construction of generation capacities of 150 MW from solar energy sources, a project of Jaha Group Company. The head of the MED said that the Government is determined in ensuring regular supply with electric energy, by always taking into consideration the social impact and protection of environment.

“We are based in four sources for energy production, wind, water, air and biomass. In terms of private sector we can observe that things have moved in the right direction mostly in terms of small hydro plants, we don’t have any movement in the field of biomass, but there is something from the wind sources, and there are some projects in the drafting stage, there are also some projects proposed by the private sector”, said Stavileci.

In terms of engagement of the government to help investors for investments in this sector, Minister Stavileci said that the work is on the way for establishment of One Stop Shop for Renewable Energy Sources, with the aim of reducing procedures and elimination of possible barriers.

The representatives of Jaha Group emphasised that the project helps Kosovo in diversifying sources in the field of energy and it increases the security of energy supply. They also emphasised that following its investment in the production of solar panels this company aims to contribute to the economic development of the country through the power generation project.
