Stavileci appreciates the contribution of KEK employees in ensuring energy generation stability

Prishtina, 14.01.2017 – The Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci, highly appreciated the efforts of KEK employees, ensuring a stable power supply for Kosovo citizens in the recent cold temperatures.

Minister Stavileci made these comments today in a visit to TPP Kosovo A and TPP Kosovo B, where he discussed with employees of this corporation and obtained first-hand information on the challenges they faced in the recent period.

Stavileci thanked them for their commitment to deal with the situation created as a result of cold weather. “Contrary to previous times, today we came at a visit in TPP Kosovo A and TPP Kosovo B, with the aim of learning more closely about the great efforts of KEK staff and management in these hard days of winter, with extremely low temperatures, resembling a Siberian cold”, said Stavileci.

The Economic Development Minister stated that thanks to the significant and selfless efforts of the staff, they managed to ensure that both power plants maintain their levels of generation, with no load shedding or problems, regardless of it being expected in such temperatures.

Stavileci said there were some difficulties, which is entirely normal, but that the highlight is the heroics, courage and professionalism of KEK employees, ensuring we don’t face the problems other countries have faced.

KEK Managing Director, Arben Gjukaj, also appreciated the contribution of the staff of this corporation, in maintaining a stable level of power generation, despite difficult conditions as a result of the bad weather.

From their part, KEK employees informed Minister Stavileci on the challenges they faced and appreciated him for the support.
