Several areas of Kosovo are shaken by the earthquake that hit Northern Macedonia

Prishtina, 27.05.2022 – Based on the Seismological Network, the Geological Service of Kosovo and the Euro-Mediterranean Seismic Center, as well as the numerical analysis of the seismic event, we inform you that, on 27.05.2022 at 09:11:27h according to local time, Northern Macedonia was hit by an earthquake of MAG. 3.5 according to the Richter scale, respectively of intensity scale IV-V.

The hypocentric depth was 5 km, while the epicenter of this earthquake was located in the coordinates: 41.91 N; 21.00 E,
10 km north-west of Tetovo,
14 km south-west of Gostivar,
36 km north-east of Skopje
32 km north-west of Dragash
38 km north-west of Prizren
40 km north-east of Kaçanik.

This earthquake was notably felt by the citizens of the south-eastern, southern and south-western area of Kosovo.

Due to the considerable depth of its core, the earthquake in question was notably felt by the residents of the Prizren, Dragash, and Kaçanik region. Thus far, the Seismological Network does not possess data on eventual damages in the abovementioned areas within the territory of Kosovo.
