Rizvanolli meets 6 major American companies interested to invest in Kosovo

Prishtina, 3 March 2023 – Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, met with representatives from the US Department of State, the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Export–Import Bank of the United States, the American-Central European Business Association, as well as representatives from six major American energy sector companies.

During the meeting, the Special Representative for Global Partnerships at the US Department of State, Dorothy McAuliffe, noted that energy security as well as national security in the Western Balkans, and in Kosovo, means energy and national security for the United States as well. She added that this partnership is now more important than ever for the United States of America.

Minister Rizvanolli presented to the attendees the projects that the Government is developing, as well as opportunities for investment in the energy sector in Kosovo, and assured the invitees that Kosovo is ready to play a leading role in the region towards energy security and transition. This is to enable the diversification and independence of the sector in the region from Russia’s fossil sources, as well as to pave the way towards clean energy.

American companies, including Honeywell, GE Power, Siemens Energy, Advent Technologies, Emerson Automation Solutions, and Wethington International, have expressed their interest in investing in Kosovo and contributing to Kosovo’s plans for energy sector development. The representatives of the companies presented their work and technologies they offer, which are in line with the Energy Strategy, as well as the Government’s main projects in this sector.

The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the US Embassy in Kosovo, USAID, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
