Postal stamps with the portrait of actor Bekim Fehmiu emitted

Prishtina, 05 December 2013 – Promotion of the postal stamp issued to honor the globally renowned Albanian actor Bekim Fehmiu, commemorates and distinguishes the portrait of the actor who left his mark in the history of arts, said Deputy-Minister of Economic Development Gani Goci.

Koci made these comments today in the event organized to mark the issuance of the 100th postal stamp, which holds the portrait of the renowned actor, attended by senior representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Regulatory Authority for Electronic and Postal Communication, Kosovo Post, Macedonian Post, etc.

Koci said that such creative and innovative initiatives will always be supported by MED, while adding that the stamp is a sign of promotion and preservation of cultural and artistic values of all Albanians, through philately.

Memli Krasniqi, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, added that the numerous philatelists around the world, who collect postal stamps depicting artistic portraits, will be able to add to their collections a special stamp – that holding the figure of our renowned actor Bekim Fehmiu.

He was an artist that travelled the world, and this postal stamp will again send Bekim Fehmiu back to the places he visited due to his profession. The postal stamp with Bekim’s image is an original initiative that honors our most distinguished actor,” Krasniqi said.

Sejdi Hoxha, Chief Executive Officer of the Kosovo Post said that the philatelic mission of the Kosovo Post is to promote historic, national, cultural and scientific values of Kosovo. He said that Kosovo Post will continue to develop philately by promoting the qualitative services for all Kosovo citizens.

Rafis Aliti, from the Macedonian Post, praised the character of the great Albanian actor, stating that Bekim Fehmiu took-off from this land as a meteor to shine like a star.
