Mitsubishi – Hitachi interested in the development of “Kosova e Re” Power Plant

Prishtina, 21.06.2016 – The Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci, met today with representatives of Mitsubishi-Hitachi for Europe, Dr. Mattias Jochem, Dr. Martin G. Eckert, Dr. Ing. Patrick Weckes and the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Germany in Kosovo, Mrs. Christina Gehlsen.

The meeting was used to discuss on energy projects that Kosovo is implementing and to identify the possibilities open for renowned international companies, such as Mitsubishi- Hitachi.

TPP Kosova e Re is the most attractive project, and therefore the said company has expressed its interest to participate in the phase of its physical construction, underlining its long experience and references with similar projects worldwide.

Company representatives congratulated the Ministry for enhancing the efficiency level and making the project acceptable and in line with new funding rules issued by the Export Credit Agency approved by the OECD, in November last year.

Minister Stavileci, for his part, reemphasized that this project addresses security of energy supply, as one of the major challenges that entrepreneurs in Kosovo face, and represents a good example of the attraction of private capital and foreign direct investments in Kosovo.
