Ministry of Economy and RAEPC held the meeting on the Draft Digital Agenda 2030

 

Prishtina, 26.01.2022 – The Ministry of Economy (ME) and the Regulatory Authority of Electronic and Postal Communications (RAEPC), today held a meeting on the Draft Digital Agenda 2030.

 

The Ministry of Economy in cooperation with other stakeholders has drafted the new Kosovo Draft Digital Agenda 2030 and the Action Plan, which is expected to be approved this year by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

 

Deputy Minister of ME, Mentor Arifaj, who attended the meeting, said that the Kosovo Draft Digital Agenda 2030 is a cross-sectoral government strategy that defines the specific policy and priorities of Kosovo in the context of continuous digital transformation of the economy and society, influenced by innovative technologies and global digital trends.

 

Arifaj indicated that the time period included in this draft agenda will be from 2022 to 2030 and the action plan that will cover a period of at least 3 years with the possibility of revision.

 

The draft agenda 2030 has five strategic objectives:

 

– Advanced and secure digital infrastructure (including 5G mobile technologies; fixed gigabit technologies, blockchain, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, etc.),

 

– Digital Transformation of Businesses;

 

– Digitalization of public services;

 

– Residents with digital skills and innovative ecosystem for research and development;
– Strengthening the cyber security ecosystem.

 

The Draft Digital Agenda 2030 has been drafted based on the experience from the implementation of the Digital Agenda 2013-2020, the developments of the electronic communications market and is in line with the strategic documents of the European Union, such as: Strategy for the “gigabit” society, 5G Action Plan and cybersecurity of 5G networks, Green Deal, European Digital Decade, and other relevant documents.
