Ministri Lluka meets the President of the Kosovo Post Union, the strike is terminated

Prishtina, 09.07.2018 – Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Lluka met today with the management of the Kosovo Post Union, to discuss the current situation and challenges faced by this publicly-owned enterprise.

Under Minister Lluka’s mediation, the Kosovo Telecom has already executed the payment for the rent owed to Kosovo Post j.s.c., while the execution of wages for Post employees should be finalized today.

On this occasion the Union was also informed on the initiative of the head of MED to implement compensation for universal postal services, the request on which will be forwarded by Minister Lluka to the Government soon.

In conclusion, parties agreed to terminate the strike initiated this morning and to intensify cooperation in the following months, with special focus on addressing the Kosovo Post Strategy, aiming to avoid similar situations and finding a sustainable and long-term solution for the Kosovo Post in the future.
