Minister Stavileci informed business on energy projects

Prishtina, 18.05.2016 – “The supporting for the private sector, namely creating opportunities for doing business is one of the economic dimensions which the Government is keen to strengthen”, said Blerand Stavileci, Minister of Economic Development, in a discussion with leaders of private businesses, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce.

Minister Stavileci also stated that the Government is committed to ensure an environment conducive of doing business, including the electricity supply, as a prerequisite for sustainable economic development.

Further, he informed the participants on the projects implemented by MED, such as the power plant Kosova e Re, investments in ICT, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

Minister Stavileci expressed his support for private businesses, and added that Kosovo has significant youth potential, which should be directed towards prospective vocations, following global trends.

From his part, Arian Zeka, Director of AmCham, said that cooperation of businesses with the Government and finding investment opportunities would help local businesses and would also create new jobs.

Otherwise, participants were informed by Minister Stavileci on the economic achievements, including local export growth and import reduction, which he regarded as a positive signal towards the strengthening of the economy.

On the other hand, business representatives thanked Minister Stavileci for his willingness to inform them on projects implemented by MED, which, according to them, will have an impact on strengthening local businesses.
